Why Cold Processed?
There are so many reasons! Cold process soaps are all natural, beautiful, and can be custom made to suit your skin’s needs.
Store bought soaps contain chemicals and detergents that “clean” the skin by stripping its natural moisture. Sandollar Soap Co. uses quality skin-loving ingredients to create soaps through the "cold process."
This process blends oils and lye together to produce a block of fatty acids and glycerol. This premature block of soap is cut into bars and left to cure for 4-6 weeks. After curing, a luxurious bar of pure glycerin soap is ready to be used!
Glycerin is what makes natural soap so beneficial. It draws moisture deep into the skin’s surface, leaving the skin soft and hydrated. Your skin will be healthy, happy, and clean.
How to Care for your Natural Soap
Please keep soap dry between uses! Leaving your soap wet will cause it to become soggy and wash away down the drain. Hang dry in the Zero Waste Soap Saver bag between uses to get the most out of your soaps!
Coconut Soy What?
Coconut soy wax is a natural wax made from coconut meat and soybeans. Sandollar Soap Co. uses coconut soy wax to make a superior quality candle that is environmentally friendly, clean burning, and longer lasting than traditional paraffin candles.
Coconut soy wax is a biodegradable plant-based resource. It is made without harmful chemicals and produces a cleaner burn without black soot or chemical byproducts.
Coconut soy wax burns at a cooler temperature and is harder than 100% soy wax. This allows for your candle to burn 30 - 50% longer than soy or paraffin candles.
Did you Know?
- Candles form a memory when put out too soon and can "tunnel" or burn in the same spot if put out too early. When burning your candle for the first time, make sure to burn until the wax pool melts to the edge of the container. Coconut soy wax burns slowly, and the initial burn can take up to 3 hours.
- Don't blow out your candle! Instead, use the candle lid to extinguish the flame. Blowing on the flame can splatter hot wax and spread flammable materials. Sealing the candle with the lid will remove oxygen from inside the candle and safely burn out the flame.
- Keep wick trimmed to 1/4 in. before each burn. Use the Candle Wick Trimmer to keep wick trimmings and other debris out of the wax pool. Keeping your wick trimmed will prevent smoking and soot build up on the container or other items.
- Burn only on stable, heat resistant surfaces. Do not burn for more than 4 hours. Keep out of drafts. Keep away from children and pets. Do not move candle while burning or if wax is hot. Wait for wax to harden before relighting. Discontinue use when there is a 1/2 in. of wax remaining. Never leave a burning candle unattended.
